Many of you will remember the parody words where “ Nellie took out her glass eye”. You may parody all you like as we did!

It was arranged initially by Sally Hall & re-arranged as a signature for her Quartet of the same name & for the supporters of Crewe Alexander FC whose anthem it is (they tend to win every blue moon!).

50p Day Thou Gavest Lord Is Ended: arranged by Jean Sutton. The lyrics were written at Crewe Green vicarage in Cheshire, by the incumbent John Ellerton. This hymn was chosen by Queen Victoria fo her 60th anniversary of her reign but also used in 1997 in the official handing over of Hong Kong to China. It was arranged in SATB a cappella for St. Andrew with St John Parish Church choir in Crewe for the 75th Anniversary of its dedication.
